The Jane and Eva Johansen Foundation was established in 2023 by sisters Jane and Eva Johansen. The foundation is the sole heir to the founders’ estate and continues their values, interests and commitment to life by supporting projects that make a real difference to both exposed children and animals.
The foundation’s purpose reflects the sisters’ keen interest in culture, research and education, as well as their humanitarian and social commitment and desire to contribute to better animal welfare – also across national borders.
Jane Johansen was particularly concerned with animal welfare and was actively involved in working for the well-being and protection of animals. Throughout her life, she supported initiatives that improved conditions for both domestic and wild animals, and her efforts were marked by a deep personal commitment.
Eva Johansen had a strong social and humanitarian interest, with a particular focus on children’s conditions and opportunities for a better life. She was concerned with education, health and care for children, especially those who grew up in difficult circumstances in both Denmark and abroad.
The purpose of the foundation is thus to continue the sisters’ life’s work by providing support for initiatives that promote and ensure animal welfare, as well as projects that improve the living conditions of exposed children – both in Denmark and abroad.
